Toner low? When to replace toner and how to avoid running out

Sindoh Malaysia · Updated

A “toner low” warning means the cartridge is nearly empty but can usually print for a while longer. Replace it when prints start to fade or the machine asks for a new cartridge. Keep one spare, use genuine toner, and on a rental plan ask for toner before you run out.

Safety and liability: follow these steps at your own risk and only as far as your device’s manual allows. Switch off and unplug before reaching inside. Read the full notice at the end of this guide.

What the warnings mean

  • Toner low: the cartridge is getting close to empty. Order a replacement now.
  • Replace toner / toner empty: the machine may stop printing that colour until you fit a new cartridge.

Replacing a cartridge

  • Follow the steps shown on the control panel. Most MFPs open to the correct cartridge.
  • Gently shake a new cartridge before fitting it, if the instructions say to.
  • Keep toner away from skin and clothes, and don’t use a vacuum cleaner on spilled toner.

Why genuine toner matters

Toner is matched to the machine. Poor-quality toner can cause faint prints, streaks and wear on parts. Ask Sindoh Malaysia for the correct toner for your model.

Don’t run out

  • Keep one spare of each colour you use.
  • Order when the “low” warning appears, not at “empty”.
  • On a rental plan, ask how toner is supplied. Contact us when you need more.
