Copier features to check before you rent

Sindoh Malaysia · Updated

Before renting a copier, check that its speed and monthly volume match your office, that it handles the paper sizes you use, and that its scanning, security and network features fit how your team works. Getting this right saves you paying for features you don’t need, or missing ones you do.

The checklist

  • Speed (ppm): fast enough for your busiest hour.
  • Recommended monthly volume: comfortably above what you print.
  • Colour or mono: colour if you print marketing, charts or plans.
  • Paper size: A3 for drawings, schedules and posters; A4 only if you never need larger.
  • Document feeder: single-pass duplex for fast two-sided scanning.
  • Paper capacity: fewer refills on busy days.
  • Scanning: scan to email, shared folder, searchable PDF (OCR).
  • Security: card authentication and quotas.
  • Connectivity: wired network, Wi-Fi, USB.
  • Finishing: stapling or extra trays, if you need them.

How the Sindoh rental range compares

Do I need an A3 copier?

If you ever print or copy drawings, spreadsheets, posters or plans larger than A4, yes. Otherwise an A4 machine may be enough.
